A rugged cable, offering a high level of mechanical and environmental protection whilst enabling easy breakout and fibre termination within multi-dwelling or office buildings. This tight buffered multi-cord optical cable is suitable for applications in local area network (LAN) including FDDI cabling, Ethernet and Token ring.
Made for the distribution of optical fibre cables within the Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) or office buildings. This tight buffered multi-fibre optical cable is suitable for applications in local area network (LAN) including FDDI cabling, Ethernet and Token Ring. This cable is suitable for light loads.
This tight buffered fibre optical cord is suitable for interconnection in high cabling density patch panels and process control applications in local area networks (LAN) including FDDI cabling, Ethernet and Token ring. Ferrule assembly for (LC compliant) connectors is a new compact pre-connectorized system, which can be used within ducts of very small size or can be blown into micro ducts, offering an easy and reliable solution to perform FTTx installations.
This tight buffered fibre optical zip-cord is suitable for interconnections in high cabling density patch panels and other fibre management enclosures and process control applications. Featuring a very small diameter reduces significantly the cabling area density.
This tight buffered single cord optical cable is specifically designed for use in the last leg of the Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) applications. The cable can be pre-connectorised and protected with QUICKDR@W pulling shroud for ease of installation and without the use of expensive fusion splicing equipment. It is specifically designed to be flexible and kink resistant.
Our Minism@rt cables present the next stage in fibre optic cable deployment. Using state of the art manufacturing technology and process control, Prysmian has drastically miniaturised loose tube cables, offering benefits to both installers and network owners.
The communication cable OptiC@t™5e is a combo of a four pair Cat 5E and two bend-insensitive fibres. Not only will it’s capability for super high-speed make the building attractive to future owners, the Low Smoke Zero Halogen sheath makes the building much safer, too. Plus, the cables insensitivity to bending makes it a lot easier and less expensive to install. Copper and optic fibre links the present to the future and gives you the better of two worlds.
Our size-reduced SM@RTCORE® range of fibre optic loose tube cables saves you space, time and money. It’s easier to install and you can increase the number of fibres in a duct, lower the number of ducts needed or extend the life of existing ducts. Plus, the strong, still smooth, polyethylene/nylon sheath protects against termites and reduces friction.
This Loose tube dielectric optical cable is designed for external underground installations in ducts by pulling, jetting or floating techniques or by direct burial in open-cut trenches. The cable is designed for installation in areas where mechanical impact is expected.
The FlexTube products offer many advantages compared with using standard loose tube optical cable. The innovative micromodule design incorporates soft, flexible fibre units – more dense and quicker to prepare and install. These key benefits of denser design and easier handling translate to major savings in terms of time and cost – and the larger the project, the greater the savings.
HSe Extr@core® is a frontier fibre cables breaking new ground. Our latest test equipment brings trial and error to a completely new level, replicating forces only found in the most hostile black soil of Australia. The first result, HSe Extr@Core®, was above all expectations.
Terminate the rat battle with heavy armour. Our all-dielectric ARM@CORE fibre optic cables are fully protected against ruthless Australian rodents. Despite the solid hardware these loose tube cables are still surprisingly lightweight, flexible and easy to handle. The Prysmian ARM@CORE cable uses glass reinforced plastic (GRP) rods to fully armour the cable and offer the robust protection needed to block rodents and polyamide provides anti-termite protection.
The Corrugated Steel Tape Armoured cable is designed for external underground installations in ducts or by direct burial. Corrugated steel tape provides rodent protection and polyamide provides anti-termite protection. The armoured structure also provides additional compressive strength for the cable. Use this type of optical cables when you want maximum crush resistance.
Ribbon Fibre Cables offer extremely high fibre density as well as the advantages of Mass Fusion Splicing – where 12 fibres can be fusion spliced in one operation. This has the potential to speed up network roll out and significantly cut splicing and installation costs. Prysmian is the only cable supplier manufacturing fibre ribbons in Australia, these are supplied in a range of fibre count cables from small 72 fibre cables to high capacity 864 fibre cables.
This series is part of the most deployed fibre type worldwide and can be used in all cable constructions including loose tube, tight buffered, ribbon and central tube designs. We offer two types, standard and enhanced. The enhanced Single-Mode Fibre (ESMF) is compliant with ITU-T Recommendation G.652, Table D. The tighter geometrical, attenuation and PMD specifications of the enhanced type enables superior performance in long haul, metropolitan, access and premises applications for telecommunications, CATV and utility networks.
Long distance and metropolitan non-zero dispersion shifted fibres developed for optimized dispersion characteristics in high-capacity, long-distance networks. Our TeraLight® fibre is available in 2 versions, the regular TeraLight® and the TeraLight® Ultra. The benefit of the former is the minimization of your chromatic dispersion compensation while the latter is optimized for ultra-long transmission. Both versions offer: • Solutions for long haul and metropolitan transmissions. • Excellent distortion management. • Cost effective operation at 10 and 40 Gbps. • Tight channel spacing in C- and L-bands. • Compatibility
We believe that bend-insensitive optical fibres shouldn’t have to come at the expense of other characteristics. In order to enhance the world’s most deployed single mode optical fibre, the G.652 standard, Prysmian invented the BendBright® family comprising of BendBright® and BendBrightXS. They have a bend sensitivity reduction of x10 and x100 respectively as compared to G.652 without compromising on quality. Important features of the BendBright® family: • Compliance with the most stringent ITU-T G.652.D recommendation. • Capacity for tighter, high-end speciality operations with

Multimode fibres are intended for all applications where the distances covered are short, such as Local Area Networks (LAN) or all networks with a small reach like campus, buildings or offices. OM1 fibre will support link lengths greater than 400 meters at 850nm and 1000 meters at 1300nm in LAN applications. A multimode fibre also enables connections for backbone, riser and horizontal links. All these networks are characterised as having many points of access to the fibre and the short distances covered.
