A company cannot progress without the development of the people who make it run day to day. In order to promote this growth, we must recognise the abilities, skills and strengths of our employees and match them to the needs of the business. Jacqueline White is a skilled and diligent member of our internal sales team – she is also our youngest Team Leader.
Starting with us 5 years ago as an Internal Sales Coordinator, Jacqui’s organisation, leadership and project management skills were soon recognised, and just under 2 years later she was promoted to the role of Team Leader for the Industrial business. “I was surprised to even be put forward for the position at that time… But I love managing projects and being hands on, so I was definitely up for the challenge.” With the support of the company Jacqui is furthering her management skills, through studying a Bachelor of Business Management.
Our Industrial Business is spread across Infrastructure, Mining, Oil & Gas and Renewable projects, and Jacqui’s team of 6 are responsible for managing our projects and customers in these sectors. The different projects within this channel of business are complex and stringent in terms of timelines and delivery, “the team works really hard and coordinates with other business areas to ensure everything runs as smooth as possible, which isn’t always easy… we need to adapt quickly to project requirements, so a high level of attention to detail is definitely required.” Jacqui explained.
Jacqui’s own project portfolio includes many significant local infrastructure projects from over the past few years – in particular, WestConnex, NorthConnex and Sydney Metro. Last year Jacqui visited a section of the Sydney Metro to see where the cables we had supplied were installed, “… a few of the factory personnel were invited too, which is great as they’re the ones who managed the manufacturing processes of the cable. But that has probably been the highlight of my time with Prysmian. It’s awesome to know that products we supply are helping to build such significant infrastructure.”
A big thanks to Jacqui and the Industrial Sales Team for their continued hard work!
